U.S. Senate Hopeful Bill Jones To Address SVREP Lunch
CA Republican Party Vice Chair Also to Address Crowd

Los Angeles, CA – Celebrating its 30 th year of conducting Latino voter registration projects around the country, Southwest Voter Registration Education Project (SVREP) today announced that United States Senatorial candidate Bill Jones and California State Republican Party’s Vice Chair, Mario Rodriguez, will speak at its 30 th Anniversary luncheon.

"SVREP welcomes the participation of Bill Jones and Mario Rodriguez at our 30 th Anniversary Luncheon,” said Antonio Gonzalez, SVREP’s president. “It is our goal to develop a pro Latino consensus in both major parties, and their participation is an important step in that direction. Bill Jones and Mario Rodriguez follow in the footsteps of many Republican stalwarts who’ve addressed our annual events including President George H.W. Bush, CA Treasurer Matt Fong, and Gov. Rick Perry of Texas."

BACKGROUND: Southwest Voter Registration Education Project (SVREP) is a national nonprofit nonpartisan organization committed solely to the political empowerment of Latino communities through voter registration, voter education and voter participation. SVREP was established in 1974 by the late Willie Velásquez to encourage civic and political participation in Latino and other underrepresented communities. Since its inception, SVREP has registered over 2.2 million Latino voters throughout the southwest and Florida.
