What:
The 32 nd Annual Southwest Voter Registration Education Project’s Latino Vote 2006 Banquet will gather the most influential people in the state of California. Members of the Southwest Voter Registration Education Project (SVREP), elected officials, concerned citizens, corporate and community leaders, will gather in Southern California for their annual dinner. With the national focus on the recent immigrant demonstrations and marches in the U.S., this year’s event will highlight the influence of new Latino votes in the coming elections, and will honor the outstanding leaders who have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Latinos in the United States. SVREP is a national, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to the political empowerment of Latino communities through the use of some of the most powerful tools of American democracy: voter registration, voter education and voter participation. Since its inception, SVREP has registered over 2.3 million Latino voters throughout the Southwest and other parts of the country.
