As the premier national non-profit non-partisan organization dedicated to the empowerment of the Latino and other ethnic communities through voter registration and mobilization efforts Southwest Voter Registration Education Project (SVREP) has registered of 2.5 million Latinos throughout the United States since its inception in 1974.

SVREP interns can work on a multitude of projects ranging from general office administration, field organizing and administration, leadership training, public relations/media, and development/special event planning. Additionally, your internship may qualify for academic credit depending on your particular institution, college or university.

The ideal intern will:

  • Be able to multi-task and prioritize among assignments.
  • Be able to meet deadlines and to work with little or no supervision.
  • Be available 10-20 hours a week (9 am -6 pm, Monday through Friday, some weekend duties may be required.)

Relevant skills include experience with:

  • General office administration (phones, fax, copying, filing, etc)
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Internet research, email, data entry, etc.)
  • Fluent Spanish speaker
