Willie Velásquez: Your Vote is Your Voice— A Documentary on William C. Velásquez, SVREP’s Founder and President (1974-1988) will feature on PBS on Monday, October 3, 2016, at 9:30 PM.

William C. Velásquez changed the face of Texas and the nation with his efforts to empower the Latino community through their vote. Willie registered Latino voters and changed systemic barriers that blocked and diluted the Latino vote. Today because of Willie’s work through SVREP the Latino Vote is an important voting bloc in American politics.

PBS, Latino Public Broadcast, local public stations and community partners will host the screening of the Willie Documentary in a number cities across the United States. These screenings will take part before the PBS airs the Willie Velasquez documentary on Monday, October 3, 2016, at 9:30 PM. The Willie Velásquez: Your Vote Is Your Voice Documentary is made possible by Documentary Film Marker Hector Galan, Narrated by Film Director Luis Valdez and PBS/Latino Public Broadcast.
